Man flew for the first time technically on December 17th 1903, at Kitty Hawk North Carline in the Outerbanks. The actual first flight probably took place before then but that’s all moot. 66 years later we landed a man on the Moon. In just 66 years flight became a tremendously fruitful and creative endeavor for human beings. I have this here because aviation has been the third dimension of warfare since observation balloons. Here we categorized and record and talk about all the strange ways man has tried to escape the bounds of Earth and move like a bird. Here we emphasize combat aircraft but then this is a military history blog.
