The F-107, a single seat supersonic nuclear bomber escort/fighter/interceptor, the last design of the Century series. It first flew in 1956, reaching Mach 1.3 on its maiden flight. Only three production models were made, but the first one suffered a crash landing that fortunately did not kill the test pilot.

The F-107 was called he Super Super Saber, and later the Ulta. It featured advanced wing spoilers and a flight control system that allowed it to roll at Mach speed.

The characteristic intake ducts over the canopy featured the first Variable Area Inlet Duct, basically a variable geometry intake duct. The aircraft was used as a flight test bed before it was retired. One is at the Air Force Museum at Wright Patterson Air Force Base.
