Tahtib, Egyptian Stick Fighting

by Daniel Russ on October 20, 2010

Dating back to the 2nd millennium BC, the Egyptians either created a dance that became a martial art, or more likely, like many martial arts, it was a secret combat form hidden inside a dance. It was a ritual stick fighting art that used a three-foot wooden pole and looks a bit like Kendo, Jodotsu, and single stick Dos Manos Arnis.
