Frankish Sword

I have been reading about how the Germanic tribe that became known as the Franks, were affected by the horse. Both the spear and the short sword carried by the Franks in the 4thy century became long and thin so they could be wielded either on foot or on horseback. The cavalryman here is carrying  combination poleax/spear as well.
