US Supplied The French After Normandy

The French relied on America for logistical support after the Normandy invasion. From pork free rations for Muslim soldiers to French-English dictionaries. Americans were bringing a lot to the French battlefield: 1,100 tanks, 215,000 infantry rifles, 17,000 tons of corned and frozen beef. They brought 20 million Atabrine anti-malarial tablets. 7 million packets of pipe tobacco and 7000 canteens. The French would not let their wine transports be turned into gas transports, so extra trucks had to be brought in.
