Gettysburg was the bloodiest battle in the American Civil War. A total of 51,000 casualties were tallied between both sides. After wars concluded on the battlefield, people often picked through the pockets of dead soldiers looking for money, and they absconded with whatever they could find of value.
Three-year old Edward Woods and his brother found a musket of some kind and whilst playing with it, discharged it. The round killed Ed making him the youngest battlefield casualty on the war.
