A 90 Orlyonok

The Orlyonok was one of the truly unusual aviation technology configurations. It was menat tio be a heavy transport over the Caspian Sea or some such calm water estuary. Unlike the other Ekranoplan aircraft this one was amphibious and so could land on its wheel or its water skis. It cruised at 250 mph and could travel just under 1000 miles without refueling. It carried 150 people or 32 tons of ordinance and equipment.

Mounted on the rear vertical stabilizer was a massive powerful propeller turbine and it also had two turbofan engines with intakes behind the nose starboard and port.

Only 7 were built.
