The Boulton Paul P 111 was created to be a small jet powered combat aircraft. It had a Rolls Royce Nene engine and a Martin Baker Ejection seat. It featured a thin 45 ° delta wing with a single rear vertical stabilizer. All the control surfaces were powered, not levered. It had a crash during trials and engineers felt it had too many questions unanswered, except one: is it going to work?
It was scrapped in 1958.
