Gepanzerter Mannschaftstransportwagen Kätzchen

The Gepanzerter Mannschaftstransportwagen Kätzchen was a prototype armored personnel carrier. Since tanks were invented, foot soldiers rode on top of the vehicles in and out of battle.  The Germans figured out that foot  soldiers could use the armor as well as tankers to make it to the theater of battle rested and uninjured. It was a front wheel drive tracked vehicle that looks like it could carry perhaps six to eight fully armed soldiers into battle. Only two prototypes were built before the war ended.
