The D2E1 Armored Car.

by Daniel Russ on April 6, 2013

Two prototype armored cars were built by the Royal Ordnance Factory in 1929. Quite literally the British were making bank everywhere and needed this simple tool of empire. The armored car. The D2E1 was armed with a .303 machine gun with a crew of three.  In 1931 a prototype was made for Egypt with two turret mounted .50 machine guns for anti-aircraft use. The second prototype to spec D2E2 was built in 1931 and included a lower bonnet to improve the drivers view and enhanced armor. Five were built and the program was discontinued.
