The Indian Government commissioned a 1 1/2 ton Crossley based on the chassis that had been designed for use in Russia. This chassis was under consideration as a medium truck for India. In trials one made 4000 miles of driving. An order for 32 followed with bodies by Vickers and these were designated IGAI Crossley. 450 were delivered in 1923 through 1925. This was one of the first autos to be commissioned by the Indian Provisional Government.

As the Indian Provisional Government was the Anti-British “government-in-exile” during WWI, and was based in Kabul, I think you mean to say the British-Indian Government.
