Bernard Momtgomery was known for his instant wit. He stepped into a cab late one night in London. The Cabbie asked: “Where to?”
“Waterloo,” replied Monty.
“Waterloo Station?” the Cabbie asked, confirming the destination.
“Certainly,” Replied Monty. “We’ve quite missed the battle.”
