As you look through these, you will see if you can read the manuscripts, that the lunar modules were basically duct taped together battery powered toys. The ability to regulate current the way we do know simply did not exist as an exact science. And so circuit boards were constantly tripping and overloading. Apollo 11 was more like Herbie The Love Bug than a space ship.

As it was the first module that was made (or at least opperated), I am not suprised about the duct tape. I expect even on the first models of the F22 and F35 some of the work will have been done with duct tape, or the software variant of that.
